Manchester City set an English top flight record on Wednesday evening with their 4-0 thrashing of Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium which was their 15th consecutive Premier League victory.
Pep Guardiola’s side have picked up a staggering 49 points from a possible 51 this season, with a draw at home to Everton in their second game being the only time they haven’t won so far during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Citizens have opened up an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League table above rivals Manchester United. The 49 points they have collected through 17 games is already more than 13 teams picked up in the 2016-17 campaign, and their 52 goals is more than 12 teams scored last season.
City are also into the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup and won their Champions League group, drawing FC Basel in the second round which recommences in February.
