After the opening weekend of the 2019-20 Premier League season, a total of 4,139 players have now turned out in the division since it was rebranded in 1992.
Norwich City winger Onel Hernández’s introduction as a substitute saw Cuba become the 114th different nationality represented.
Though, nationalities are a confusing thing. The Premier League officially state there have been 114 different nationalities represented. However, they class Danny Higginbotham as Gibraltar, but he’s never played in the competition since representing the recent UEFA Nation.
Countries such as Yugoslavia, Serbia & Montenegro and Czechoslovakia no longer exist, so the likes of Saša Ćurčić and Jan Stejskal are no longer associated with representing these nations.
