Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has praised his teammate Rodrigo on Instagram for his performance against Aston Villa on Friday evening.
Rodrigo was in action for Leeds in their Premier League game against Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League last night.
The 29-year-old Spain international, who can operate as a striker or as a winger, started the match and played for 79 minutes, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side won 3-0.
Patrick Bamford stole the show for the West Yorkshire outfit, as the former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker scored a hat-trick in the second half.
Rodrigo, who joined Leeds from Valencia in the summer transfer window, has expressed his delight on Instagram at the win, and Phillips, who is injured at the moment and did not play, has praised him for his performance.
Phillips responded: “Well done brother.”
How did Rodrigo play against Aston Villa?
Rodrigo did not play well in the first half at Villa Park, as the Spain international failed to show his quality when he got into good positions.

The former Valencia star also provided the pass for Helder Costa for his assist to Bamford for the striker’s third goal of the game.
According to WhoScored, Rodrigo took four shots of which one was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 90.6%, took 51 touches, attempted one dribble, made two tackles and one clearance, and put in one cross.
