Everyone’s favourite pantomime villain, Luis Suarez, could be on his way back to Merseyside this summer if Mo Salah departs according to reports in Spain.
Salah has almost become irreplaceable for the Reds, with his inrecible goals tally going a long way in the success Liverpool have had over the last few years, as he has regularly been at the top of the goal scoring charts.
It’s not been a great season so far for Liverpool, but Salah again finds himself joint top goal scorer alongside Harry Kane – which highlight’s the importance he has on the team.
Suarez is an Anfield icon and would be idolised if he was to return to Merseyside.
The striker helped fire Liverpool to within touching distance of a Premier League title and in the 2013/14 season, produced perhaps the best season any striker has ever produced in the top flight.
It’s hard to envisage Suarez as a like-for-like replacement for Salah, as they do play in different positions, but you can see the thinking behind it.
Suarez would undoubtedly guarantee goals, but it would mean Roberto Firmino would have to make way as it’s unlikely we would see Suarez pushed out wide.
