We have a number of midweek Premier League fixtures to look forward to over the coming days. Here’s a look ahead at some of the games and offers some predictions….
Leeds vs Liverpool
We have an exciting match at Elland Road this evening as Leeds United entertain Liverpool. The Reds have endured a disappointing Premier League campaign and are currently sitting sixth in the table so they’ll be desperate for a win to close-in on the top four.
However, Leeds are a dangerous side on their day and a win for the hosts would move them up to ninth and to within just four points of Liverpool. The first of our football predictions today is a tricky one but we’re going for a score draw at Elland Road.
Prediction: Leeds 1-1 Liverpool
Chelsea vs Brighton
This one should be a little more straightforward as Chelsea are the heavy favourites to beat Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues eased into the semi-finals of the Champions League last week while they also booked their place in the FA Cup final with a win over Man City at the weekend. Thomas Tuchel has impressed in west London since replacing Frank Lampard so they should be in confident mood.
A win tomorrow would move them up to third in the Premier League table and we think it will be a routine win for Chelsea over a Brighton side that sit 16th in the division.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Brighton
Aston Villa vs Man City
On Wednesday night, Premier League leaders Manchester City will be looking to get back to winning ways when they head to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa.
City lost 2-1 at home to Leeds last time out in the league and have seen their lead at the top cut to eight points after Man Utd beat Burnley over the weekend. They also crashed out of the FA Cup to Chelsea on Sunday so Pep Guardiola will be desperate to get back on track.
However, Villa won’t be easy opposition as they are 11th in the table following a solid campaign and would climb up to ninth with a win on home soil on Wednesday night.
We don’t think it will be an easy game for City but expect them to have enough quality to get the job done. Guardiola rotated his team for the FA Cup tie so he can recall a number of top quality players, which could make the difference in this one.
Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Man City
