Arsenal have reached an agreement with Fulham for Bernd Leno for a fee in the region of £8million, according to The Athletic.

The report claims that the final details of the deal are currently being finalised between the two clubs with personal terms having already been agreed upon between the Craven Cottage outfit and the goalkeeper.

Leno lost his place as Arsenal’s number one to Aaron Ramsdale soon after the England international’s arrival at the Emirates last summer and is expected to undergo a medical next week.

The 30-year-old only made eight appearances in all competitions for the Gunners during the last campaign (transfermarkt) and will now look to get regular first team football with the Premier League newcomers.

It is a good move to get Leno off the wage bill and a fee of around £8million represents good value considering the club have already brought in Matt Turner.

Hopefully, the funds will go straight into the pocket of Mikel Arteta and Edu to improve some key positions ahead of the transfer window closing.
