Tottenham have recently scouted Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic ahead of a potential move this summer, according to La Nazione (via Fiorentina.it).

Milenkovic has made 171 appearances during his time at Fiorentina, scoring 14 goals (Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old’s impressive displays in Italy have seen him linked to Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan in recent times (Corriere dello Sport).

However, according to Informazione Sport, La Viola have informed the centre-back that they will only wait until the first week of August to consider incoming offers.

With the Serbian’s future now uncertain, Spurs are said to have entered the race to sign the defender (La Nazione, via Fiorentina.it).

According to La Nazione, Milenković’s agent Fali Ramadani is planning to meet with the chairman of an unnamed club on August 2nd, in order to understand all of the options which his client has available. Following this, the agent, his client and Fiorentina will decide together on Milenkovic’s best move (Fiorentina.it).

Whilst Milenkovic has impressed me on the occasions I have watched him play, I don’t feel as though he will be a priority for Antonio Conte.

It’s no secret that Conte wanted a top-class left-footed defender to play on the left side of his back three. He has settled for Clement Lenglet in the hope that he can coach him back to his best Sevilla form, however, a move for Milenkovic to compete with Cristian Romero makes no sense.
