Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has promised that his club’s transfer business is not over ahead of the transfer window closing on September 1st.

The Gunners have already brought in five new faces in Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Viera, Matt Turner and Marquinhos while Matteo Guendouzi, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Alexandre Lacazette and Austin Trusty have all headed out of the door as part of the rebuild.

Jesus has particularly looked to have been a shrewd addition, with the Brazilian continuing his impressive pre-season form with a hat-trick in yesterday’s 6-0 demolition of La Liga outfit Sevilla at the Emirates.

Arsenal had previously missed out on the likes of Raphinha, who left Leeds United to join Barcelona (Mirror), with Arteta vowing that is he still hopeful of improving his squad.

Arteta told London World: “We are still hoping to do something else if the market allows. You have seen some movement in the last few days as well.

“We want to get the perfect balance and the plan we wanted from the beginning. Whether we accomplish that or not is another story.”

The Gunners have done some decent business in the window, but have also failed to land some high profile targets such as Raphinha, it is this calibre of player that Arsenal must look to bring in.

Arteta needs players who can improve the starting eleven, rather than purely add squad depth.  Youri Tielemans would be one such player who would add another level of quality to the middle of the park.
