Wales Online have claimed that Cardiff City are interested in signing Tottenham youngster Kion Etete on a permanent deal.
Etete shone on loan at Northampton Town in the first half of last campaign before Spurs sent him on loan to Cheltenham in January, and the striker made the step up to League One effortlessly, finishing with six-goal contributions in 13 appearances (Transfermarkt).
Unlike Troy Parrott, who impressed on loan at MK Dons last season, Etete did not travel with the Spurs squad on their pre-season tour to South Korea.
Spurs have loaned out Parrott to Preston North End this summer while another of the club’s promising young forwards in Dane Scarlett has completed a temporary move to Portsmouth.
Wales Online claim that unlike Parrott and Scarlett, Tottenham have decided to cash in on Etete, who has 12 months left on his contract at the club.
The report reveals that Cardiff are looking to bolster their striker force and are looking to snap up the Spurs centre-forward before the transfer window closes.

It appears as if the Spurs hierarchy have decided that Etete is not a future first-team prospect, which is surprising considering how well he did at Cheltenham last season.
It must be considered that Parrott and Scarlett are clearly above Etete in the pecking order, has played a part in Tottenham’s reported decision to cash in on the former Notts County youngster.
