According to sources in Italy, SportsView has learned that Liverpool are pushing to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the end of next week.
The Reds have signed Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, but they still want to bolster their options in the middle of the park and will look to convince the Morocco international to join them.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the player, but Amrabat is currently waiting for Manchester United to make a late move for him having shown interest for over two months.
Liverpool are aiming to outbid the Red Devils, and sources have suggested to SportsView that next week is crucial and critical in the transfer as Fiorentina are unwilling to wait until the last week of the summer transfer window before selling him.
The Serie A club want to conclude a deal for the 26-year-old in time to sign a replacement before the window shuts, and while Man United will try and lower the €30 million his club are demanding, Liverpool are keen to outbid them as Fiorentina are not ready to consider a discount.
Klopp wants to sign more than just one midfielder having lost Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and the German has already spoken with Amrabat after Chelsea pipped his side to the signing of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
Morocco head coach Walid Regragui dubbed the midfielder a ‘world-class‘ player during the World Cup, tipping him to move to one of the major European clubs soon, and Amrabat knows this summer is a very good chance for him to seal a dream move to one of the bigwigs.
He is waiting for the Red Devils as he eyes a reunion with Erik ten Hag, but Liverpool know a deal is there to be done with Fiorentina desperate to quickly sell him, and with Man United continuing to stall, next week represents their best chance to land the North African star and they plan to pull out all the stops to get him.
