Celtic need to make a decision on the future of Joe Hart at the end of the season and Brendan Rodgers should know what to do.
Hart has a contract at the club until the end of the season and the Bhoys must not offer him a new deal.
The former Manchester City goalkeeper has been a key player for the Hoops and he is the first-choice goalkeeper at the moment. However, it’s time for Rodgers to think of a bigger picture, and drop Hart after his mistake in the midweek.
Hart made some good saves during the 6-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night in the Champions League, and he definitely can’t be blamed for the goals conceded. Celtic lost a player early in the first half and it became really difficult for them to control Atletico after that.
However, footage has been doing the rounds on the internet where we find Hart’s terrible positioning for Saul’s goal. It’s simply unacceptable at this level.

What was he thinking? He was too deep inside the post to save the shot. Rodgers should be furious watching this clip.
It is high time, Rodgers must drop him and bring in someone else. The Bhoys have Benjamin Siegrist and Scott Bain as two other goalkeepers. Bain may not be a long-term solution, but he has played in Hart’s absence before.
While Celtic are a class apart in Scotland, Rodgers must start planning now with his team for the long-term. Celtic face Aberdeen in their next game, and Rodgers should drop Hart.
It’s time, he should rotate the squad and try to make the best use of the players that are available to him.
