Aston Villa have moved to fourth in the Premier League table after they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 away from home.
Clinton Morrison has showered praise on Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez after he produced a magnificent save to deny Spurs when the score was 2-1.
The popular pundit, while commentating on BBC Radio 5 Live, hailed him as “outstanding”, and said he is a “top” goalkeeper.
Martinez pulled off a “brilliant” save to deny Brennan Johnson, after he and Son Heung-Min created a fantastic opportunity.
“The save from Brennan Johnson is the one for me it’s brilliant because it’s good play between Heung-min Son and Brennan Johnson and he toe-pokes it and he saves it,” said Morrison.
“The other save is outstanding as well, that’s why he’s a top goalkeeper.”
Villa can dream
This has been a superb run from Villa, and Ollie Watkins rightly said after the match that it’s “unbelievable” what has been going on with them.
They have been incredible at home, and are getting results against top sides away from Villa Park as well.
It is still not the time to think about the top four, let alone challenging for the title, but Villa are ticking almost all the boxes at the moment.
Tony Cascarino predicted earlier this month that Villa are likely to get into the top four. It will be a fascinating contest, no doubt.
Tottenham were leading the table until week 10, but they have dropped to fifth in the table after three defeats in a row.
If they can maintain this impressive run, at some point, they can dare to dream of a top-four finish.
