Fulham eye move for Kalvin Phillips

Fulham are keen on signing Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the January transfer window, as per talkSPORT.

The Cottagers have made a stuttering start to the season and could be looking to sign a new midfielder, especially if Joao Palhinha leaves the club.

Palhinha has been sensational for Fulham in the past 18 months and has been targeted by German giants Bayern Munich.

If he departs in January, the Cottagers could move for the England international who has struggled to get regular games.

Phillips is yet to make a start in the Premier League. He has managed only four substitute appearances, and the chances are high that he could be allowed to move on.

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also keen.

Phillips should consider joining Fulham

The 27-year-old joined City from Leeds on a big-money transfer fee in 2022, but he has struggled to make an impact.

Pep Guardiola has hailed him an ‘exceptional’ player, but he is behind Rodri in the pecking order.

Phillips needs regular games to boost his confidence, and a move to Fulham would be ideal.

While a move to Liverpool, Spurs or  Newcastle may appeal to him, he may struggle to nail down a regular starting berth and his struggles would continue.

He would start regularly for Fulham, boosting his chances of featuring for England.

Fulham are winless in their last three Premier League games. They visit Aston Villa on Sunday.
