Tottenham Hotspur lost 4-1 to Chelsea at home last night to suffer their first Premier League defeat of 2023-24.
Spurs were reduced to ten men after Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off, but they held on to a draw until Nicolas Jackson grabbed a hat-trick in the last 15 minutes of the London derby.
Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario kept his side in the game for as long as possible with his brilliant saves, and Jamie Carragher was blown away by the performance of the Italian.
“I must say the goalkeeper was absolutely sensational,” the former Liverpool star said on Sky Sports.
“You talk about the sweeper keeper. I’ve never seen anything like that, and he’s been an absolute revelation since he’s come to Tottenham.”

It is unsurprising that Vicario has had the highest save ratio (77.8%) in the Premier League so far this term, and he is perfect for the playing style of Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou.
The 27-year-old joined the North London club from Empoli in the summer and has been the perfect successor to Hugo Lloris.
Vicario has kept four clean sheets, made 18 sweeper clearances and 37 saves in 11 games so far, and he could not do anything to prevent Chelsea from running riot in the final 15 minutes last night due to the very high line Spurs deployed at the back.
Tottenham remain second in the table and will be desperate to bounce back when they return to action on Saturday with a trip to Molineux Stadium to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the last game before the international break.
They resume action after the break on November 26 against Aston Villa at home and Vicario will be looking forward to both games and others.
