Lucy Ward drools over Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-1 loss against Wolves in the Premier League at Molineux on Saturday (11 November).

With Micky van de Ven, Christian Romero and James Maddison missing, Spurs have lacked quality upfront in the game, but they still managed to get an early goal through Brennan Johnson.

In the second half, Wolves created a plethora of chances but they were very poor in their finishing. Hwang Hee-chan had the best chance during the game but Wolves just couldn’t find the net when it really mattered.

In the 91st minute of the game, Pablo Sarabia equalised for Wolves with a sensational effort. And with a few minutes on the clock, Mario Lemina won the game for the home side.

Former Leeds United player turned pundit, Lucy Ward, showered heaps of praise on Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The TNT Sports pundit said, via BBC Sport, that Vicario has been in “sublime” form after he made a good save to deny Mario Lemina in the first half.

“Vicario has been in absolutely sublime form this season, and he has needed to be given the risks Tottenham take at the back,” said Ward.

“Not yet capped by Italy but surely a matter of time given his recent performances. A good, strong hand there to deny a good strike from Lemina.”

Postecoglou won’t be happy

After getting an early goal, Spurs completely lost their way and they couldn’t create enough clear-cut chances.

They didn’t offer anything in the second half and Wolves deserve something from this game.

Spurs should feel lucky that they have managed to draw the game in the end. Wolves created loads of chances and had they been more clinical, they could have won the game as well.

Sarabia scored an outrageous goal and Lemina added another as Wolves pulled off a stunning victory. Ange Postecoglou will not be happy with this result, as they have now lost in back-to-back league games.
