Dwight McNeil scored for the second game in a row as Everton moved out of the drop zone with a brilliant 3-0 win over Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Thursday night (7 December).
Three goals in the last 17 minutes ended Newcastle’s resilience with goals coming from McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Beto.
McNeil took to Instagram after the game to share his reaction. He wrote: “200th career appearance. Special to do it with you Blues.”
Alex Iwobi, who currently plays for Fulham, responded to his post with a one-word message – “player”.

What could have been?
Everton were docked 10 points after they breached their financial limits. The club have filed a case, but as it stands, they will have to move on with it.
The Toffees would have been in 10th position by now if the 10 points were not docked. But it hasn’t dampened their spirits at all.
It goes to show what an incredible job Sean Dyche has done in such a short time. The club was heading into the abyss under Frank Lampard, and it was at that point Dyche took over.
His top priority was to save the club from getting relegated when it looked nailed on. This summer, operating on a limited budget, he has steadily built the team, and the players are now responding to his methods.
The Toffees were shambolic away from home in the past two seasons. Under Dyche, they have been winning games away from home. They have picked up three Premier League wins in their last four games, and Dyche will be really happy with this effort.
Newcastle are a top side and to beat them 3-0 will give them loads of confidence. The Magpies players looked tired in the end, but Everton players deserve credit full credit.
