West Ham are interested in signing Bologna midfielder, Lewis Ferguson, as per Tuttojuve.
The Hammers are keen to bolster their midfield once again, and it seems they have earmarked the in-demand Scottish midfielder.
The Scotland International has been one of the standout performers for Thiago Motta’s side since his arrival from Aberdeen in 2022, making 32 appearances in the Italian top flight and scoring seven goals in his first full season. The 24-year-old has continued his strong form this season with three goals in 13 matches for Bologna.
Tuttojuve reports that Juventus are looking to take Ferguson on loan with a buy option while West Ham and Brentford are readying a £21m offer.
Italian outlet Tuttosports reveal that Brentford are also interested in recouping the Scotland International into their ranks but Juventus appear to be the most interested, after exploring the possibility of signing him during contract renewal talks with Federico Gatti.
Ferguson has a contract at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara until 2027 having signed a five-year contract.
Hammers eye new midfielder
While James Ward-Prowse and Mohammed Kudus are making the most of their chances since their arrival, Ferguson could also prove to be a quality addition as the Hammers need depth to compete on all fronts.
Promising European football could give The Hammers an edge over Brentford, Nottingham Forest, and Fulham, but they face a daunting challenge against a rejuvenated Juventus side who are cruising to Champions League football next season.
Ferguson might be intrigued at the prospect of playing in the Champions League for Juventus but in this case, offering more money could be Wet Ham’s only wildcard.
