Aston Villa will submit bid for Semih Kılıçsoy

Aston Villa will submit an official bid for Besiktas’ young forward, Semih Kılıçsoy, this week, according to a report from Fanatik

Villa have been simply outstanding under Unai Emery this season and they are expected to challenge for the Champions League spot, and could even fight for the Premier League title.

The 18-year-old is one of the highly-rated young talents emerging from Turkey and the club see him as an “exemplary” talent.

Kılıçsoy has enjoyed a “remarkable” season so far and several Premier League clubs have shown interest in signing him. Fanatik says British clubs are knocking on the door of Kılıçsoy, with Wolves already making an offer.

After the match against Çaykur Rizespor, Wolves submitted a bid to sign the youngster but the Black and White rejected the offer immediately.

Now Villa have made their decision to sign the young talent, and they are expected to come up with a bid this week.

The youngster has recently signed a new contract extension that will keep him at the Turkish club until 2028. It will require a very good offer to prise him away as Besiktas are not keen to let him go.

Should Villa go after established players?

There is no doubt that Kılıçsoy is a talented player, but he is hitherto unproven. Should Villa look to sign one or two quality players in January so that they can challenge the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham for the top-four race?

Kılıçsoy is not expected to improve the squad immediately, but he would no doubt be a fantastic addition to the side.

Villa are also working on a deal to sign teenage right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic, but they allow the 18-year-old to join Red Star Belgrade on loan for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Villa lost an opportunity to close the gap at the top after they drew 0-0 against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
