Chelsea are looking to complete a deal for FK IMT striker Milos Lukovic before sending him out on loan to Strasbourg, according to The Secret Scout.

The Blues’ recruitment team recently flew to Serbia to meet and hold talks with the owner of the Serbian SuperLiga club.

IMT have rejected the £4 million opening bid Chelsea have brought to the table, insisting they want a percentage sell-on fee included in the deal.

Lukovic has been in fine form this term, with ten goals to his name in 19 matches.

Chelsea could do with such an excellent finisher right now with Nicolas Jackson struggling in front of goal of recent, but the 18-year-old is yet to prove himself in a top league, and the loan to Ligue 1 could do his development a world of good.

The Serbia youth international impressed in the Serbian First League last term, bagging 15 league goals, and it appears the Blues are convinced he has what it takes to become a key player for them in the near future.

Chelsea have been crying out for a striker in the mould of Didier Drogba since the Ivorian legend left the club, and the 6ft Lukovic could finally be their answer.

It remains to be seen whether there will be new signings at the club this month, but manager Mauricio Pochettino could do with one or two quality players to help turn their fortunes around in the second-half of the campaign.

Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League after 20 games, with 12 points separating them from the top-four.

They won back-to-back league games for the second time this term during the festive period and will be keen to continue the run with victories over Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup and Middlesbrough in the first-leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals during their next two games.
