Liverpool are interested in recruiting the services of Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Willian Pacho and midfielder Hugo Larsson next summer, according to German outlet Bild.
The Reds are preparing for life without manager Jurgen Klopp, with the German manager leaving at the end of the season, and they want to make the transition easier for his successor.
Former Cameroon international centre-back Joel Matip could also follow Klopp out of Liverpool, and Pacho has caught their attention as they look for a replacement.
The 22-year-old Ecuadorian joined the Bundesliga club from Royal Antwerp for €9 million last summer on a five-year deal.
While he has no release clause in the contract, Eintracht want €60m from suitors to sell him in the summer, and Liverpool could be willing to look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative.
Larsson also joined Frankfurt on the cheap last summer, but they believe they can get €80m for him despite spending just €9m to recruit his services from Malmo.
The 19-year-old Swede was initially brought in as a player for the future, but his impressive performances against the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have made him a mainstay in the starting XI, with 21 appearances to his name so far this term.
Liverpool are not the club keen on Larsson, with Arsenal also interested in bringing the teenage sensation to the Premier League.
However, the fee the Germans want may dissuade both of them from going after his services.
The Reds also face competition from Arsenal for Pacho, while Manchester United, Real Madrid and Napoli are also monitoring his situation ahead of next summer.
Liverpool may need to wait until they appoint a new manager and sporting director before reaching a final decision on the Frankfurt duo, and their squad could take on a new look next season as a result of Klopp’s departure.
