Nayef Aguerd wants to stay at West Ham

West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd is being chased by a host of clubs in the January transfer window, but the player is happy to stay in the Premier League, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth reported on Tuesday (2 January) that Saudi clubs have made an approach to sign the 27-year-old defender.

The Hammers defender, who earns around £50k-per-week wages, is currently with the Moroccan squad for AFCON. Romano says that AS Roma and AC Milan have also made enquiries but they cannot sign him permanently.

West Ham will not accept any loan move for Aguerd this month. The player himself doesn’t look too keen to leave either.

Unlikely

Unless there’s a big offer from the Saudi clubs, it looks like West Ham won’t sell him in January.

He has been a key player for David Moyes’s side this season, managing 16 starts in the Premier League. He has also featured four times in the Europa League this season.

Losing him in the middle of the season on loan is ludicrous and the Hammers will never entertain the idea. Even, it will take a massive offer to lure West Ham into selling Aguerd in January.

However, one player who is almost certain to leave is Thilo Kehrer. According to several reports, the German defender is close to joining AS Monaco on loan with the view to making the deal permanent in the summer.

Said Benrahma is another player who is being tipped to leave the club. Premier League rivals Fulham are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing him.
