Clinton Morrison reacts to Crystal Palace win v Burnley

Crystal Palace scored three second-half goals as they picked up a crucial win against Burnley in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

After a wretched run of form under Roy Hodgson that saw the veteran manager getting the sack, the Eagles have made a solid start under their new manager Oliver Glasner.

The Eagles dominated the first half but they just couldn’t get the breakthrough they needed. However, they were in firm control, especially after Josh Brownhill was shown a straight red card in the 35th minute.

Brownhill brought down Jefferson Lerma when he was through on goal and it left the referee with no other option but to show him a red card. Burnley kept the home side quiet for nearly 20 minutes in the second half, but eventually, the goal came from defender Chris Richards who scored his first goal for the club.

Jordan Ayew and Jean-Philippe Mateta made sure the Eagles pick up all three points at Selhurst Park.

Former Crystal Palace player and club legend, Clinton Morrison took to X to share his reaction after the game. He wrote: “Big result for CPFC [Crystal Palace]. Love it.”

Glasner makes quick impact

Crystal Palace needed a positive win to lift the gloom around the club. The Eagles are now eight points clear of the relegation zone.

It’s a fantastic start from Glasner who has become only the second manager of the club after Alan Pardew to win their first Premier League game in charge.

It is never easy to manage a side in the middle of the season and he will need time to implement his methods gradually. He promised that the Palace fans will see the changes step by step, so they need to be patient as well.

Matheus Franca has made a big impact for Palace already. Glasner has also confirmed that Eberechi Eze should be back with the squad next week which should be a huge boost for the club.
