Leeds United are on course to sign Burnley defender Connor Roberts before Thursday’s deadline.
The Whites have been looking to sign a new full-back this month following the departures of Djede Spence and Luke Ayling.
Leeds have been linked with a host of players this month including the likes of Neco Williams, Calvin Ramsay and Ben Johnson, but they are close to signing Roberts.
According to Ben Jacobs, the Whites have agreed a deal to sign Roberts on a straight loan deal.
YEP journalist Graham Smyth wrote on X that the 28-year-old experienced full-back “spoke with Daniel Farke this morning”, and everything was sorted quickly.
A medical has been booked for the defender who is on £30k-per-week deal at Turf Moor. Unless, there is any major turnaround, Roberts will complete his move to Elland Road in the next few hours.

In recent weeks, Farke was forced to use Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray in the right-back role. However, the signing of Roberts will ensure they have a reliable right-back option for the rest of the season.
The move makes sense for all parties involved, Roberts has struggled for regular game time this season. He is expected to play regularly at Leeds, and make a significant contribution.
At Leeds, he will be united with his Wales teammates Dan James, Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu, and it could help him integrate into the side quickly.
It will be interesting to see if Leeds can manage to sign a centre-back before today’s deadline. According to Alex Crooks, Leeds could make a late move for Mason Holgate, while Leicester City defender Harry Souttar is also emerging as a target.
