Crystal Palace have agreed on terms over a possible loan move for West Ham United winger, Maxwel Cornet, according to journalist Ed Aarons.
Palace are actively working on bolstering their squad this summer following a string of unimpressive displays that has left them in 14th place in the Premier League standings.
The Eagles have only recorded six wins in the Premier League this season and have accumulated 24 points in 22 matches, placing them just six points above the relegation zone.
In a bid to bolster their ranks, Palace eyed a move for Manchester City’s midfielder, Kalvin Philips before missing out on the England International who has now completed a move to West Ham United. Palace swiftly found a viable replacement by agreeing to a £20m deal for Blackburn Rovers midfielder, Adam Wharton.
They are now set to swoop for West Ham’s winger, Cornet, 27, on a loan deal, to help bolster their attack as they look to improve their League standings this season.
“Understand that Palace have agreed terms over potential Maxwel Cornet loan but move still hinges on West Ham being able to sign a replacement,” wrote Aarons on X.
However, Aarons reports that a move to Selhurst Park hinges on West Ham’s ability to sign a replacement for the Cote d’Ivoire International.
Cornet still has a contract at the London Stadium until June 2027 and it remains to be seen if West Ham can find a replacement before the transfer deadline.
Palace returned to winning ways, recording an impressive 3-2 victory over Sheffield United. Michael Olise set up Eberechi Eze twice and added a sublime strike to give Roy Hodgson’s side all three points. They will hope to maintain a winning streak when they travel to the AMEX stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion in their next Premier League fixture.
Most importantly, the addition of Wharton and potentially Cornet will help boost The Eagles squad as they look to keep at touching distance from the relegation zone.
