Patrick Bamford will miss Leeds clash v Plymouth

Leeds United will face Plymouth Argyle on Saturday away from Elland Road and Daniel Farke has shared an injury update.

The Whites are in terrific form at the moment and find themselves second in the Championship. They also recently defeated Plymouth in the FA Cup.

Since the turn of the year, Leeds have shifted gears, and have maintained an enviable consistency. They have won seven games in a row and are heading into this game on the back of a 4-0 win against Swansea City.

Leeds could be without some key players for this game. Patrick Bamford missed the previous game against Swansea after he picked up a muscular injury during the warm-up.  It looks like Bamford won’t be fit for this game either.

Farke provided an update in his pre-match press conference that Bamford is likely to be out for the next two matches. Pascal Struijk, Jamie Shackleton, and Stuart Dallas also missed the midweek fixtures.

“Sadly he’s not available for this game. He has some problems with his calf. We don’t expect him to be out for too long. I don’t expect him to be available for Leicester. We think he will be back for the cup game or the league fixture after,” said Farke.

Bamford has been in terrific form

Over the past couple of years, Bamford has experienced a nightmare spell on the sidelines. Until December, it looked like there was no future for him at the club, but things have looked better in recent games.

The 30-year-old grabbed the opportunities with both hands when he was given a chance to face against Birmingham City on New Year’s Day. He scored on that day and also managed three more crucial goals.

In his admission, he is enjoying his best spell after a long time, and the injury has come at the wrong time for him. Nevertheless, it looks like, he won’t be out for a long time.

Clinton Morrison told Soccer Special on Sky Sports (13/02/24 at 7:30 pm) that Bamford has been “outstanding” for the Whites in recent games. Piroe is more than an able deputy, and the Whites should be able to pick up a win this weekend.
