Daniel Farke hints Connor Roberts could miss Leeds United clash v Watford

Leeds United travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford in the Championship on Friday (29 March).

The Whites will be looking to maintain their impressive form with another victory away from home. Leeds have won 12 out of their last 13 games, drawing the other one in 2024, and they are one of the favourites to secure promotion.

Ahead of the match, Daniel Farke has shared the team news on Wednesday, where he suggested that many players have picked up injuries whilst on international duty and they will be assessed before the match.

Georginio Rutter, who has undergone surgery during the international break, has done bits of training and Farke is confident that he will be available for selection. However, the likes of Willy Gnonto, Connor Roberts and Ilia Gruev are doubtful for this game.

Farke says that Roberts will be assessed but he didn’t sound too hopeful because the 28-year-old limped off during Wales’ clash against Poland on Tuesday night.

What Farke said about Leeds United defender Connor Roberts

Farke said: “Connor Roberts limped off, so we are waiting for him to return and then assess him. I hope it’s not too bad.

“But let’s be honest if you limp out of the game then normally you’re not available two days later. It seems a muscle injury but we have not assessed him and we have to wait a little bit.”

Roberts impressed heavily for Wales in their last two games, and he will hope to continue the same form for the Whites as well. He joined in the January transfer window from Burnley on loan and has made one start in the league, with a further seven coming from the bench.

While Farke would love to have Roberts fit for this game, it seems he is not optimistic about his fitness.

Meanwhile, Farke has confirmed today that Dutch defender Pascal Struijk has undergone surgery at the club and he won’t be available for the rest of the season.
