Predicted Liverpool starting line-up v Manchester City

Liverpool will face Manchester City in a mouth-watering Premier League clash on Sunday (10 March) at Anfield.

The Reds are top of the Premier League with 63 points, followed by Man City and Arsenal with 62 and 61 points respectively.

This is turning out to be a fascinating title race and needless to say the winner of this fixture will take one step ahead towards securing the Premier League title, although it’s still too early to say that.

The Reds have won their last four games in the Premier League and are heading into this game on the back of a 5-1 victory over Sparta Prague in the first leg of the Europa League.

But this game is massive. Liverpool generally do well against City at Anfield, and despite missing several key players, they still hold a slight advantage.

Ahead of the match, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the club will assess the situation of Ibrahima Konate who was taken off as a precaution in the last game.

The Reds are already struggling at the back with Joel Matip out for the rest of the season, losing Konate now will come as a massive blow.

How Liverpool could shape up v Man City

Klopp looked upbeat about Konate’s situation which means the Frenchman is probably likely to start alongside Virgil van Dijk. Jarell Quansah has done extremely well for the Reds this season, and he can slot in as well seamlessly.

At right-back, Conor Bradley is likely to start in place of Joe Gomez, while Van Dijk returns to the starting line-up.

There will be temptation to use Dominik Szoboszlai but Klopp is likely to stick with Harvey Elliott who ended up with three assists in the previous game.

Elliott has been immense in recent weeks, and he deserves the chance to play in such a big game for the Reds.

Mohamed Salah is back, and it means the Egyptian will start in place of Cody Gakpo. The 24-year-old has done exceptionally well in Salah’s absence, but he will have to wait for his chance from the bench.

Thus, Klopp is likely to make three changes from the side against Sparta – Bradley, Van Dijk and Salah are set to come in for Gomez, Quansah and Gakpo.

Predicted Liverpool starting line-up: Kelleher, Bradley, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Elliott, Endo, Mac Allister, Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
