UK media blown away by Liverpool defender Conor Bradley

Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley is enjoying his best football at the moment for both club and country.

The young defender scored his first goal for Northern Ireland as they earned a 1-0 victory over Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday night.

The Reds full-back has cemented his place in Jurgen Klopp’s side after Trent Alexander-Arnold got injured. He has been outstanding for the Reds so far and has continued his stunning rise after producing a “lethal” display for his country.

While Scotland enjoyed the majority of the possession, Bradley’s goal came against the run of play and it proved decisive. His curling effort took a deflection off Jack Hendry and it flew into the top corner.

Belfast Telegraph shared the player ratings from the game, and they gave Bradley a 9/10 rating for his fantastic display.

They wrote: “Hero of Hampden. One careless pass early on was quickly forgotten as he found the net with a slightly deflected finish. Great perseverance and execution from the Liverpool man. A lethal finisher disguised as a full-back. 9.”

The Reds, however, are sweating over the fitness of Andy Robertson who limped off after a strong challenge. He will return to Liverpool for a scan after his ankle injury, and everyone will hope that it is not serious.

Bradley has made six starts in the Premier League, scoring one goal and providing three assists thus far. He also started against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.

He is a solid defender who is equally brilliant going forward. It will be interesting to see what Klopp does when Trent returns to the squad after his long injury lay-off. Ideally, Bradley should keep his place, but Trent is too good a player to be left out.

Liverpool do have options to cover in case Robertson picks up a serious injury. Kostas Tsimikas is a natural replacement, while Joe Gomez can perform the task as well.
